Emergency roadwork on the George Washington Parkway, weekday Metro track work

WASHINGTON — This is likely to be a problem for the evening rush hour. Northbound on the George Washington Parkway before Spout Run, the left lane is blocked for emergency work on the rock wall along the Parkway. This morning, crews started setting up Jersey barriers blocking the left lane. There is no official word on how long the closure will be in place.

Weekday Metro track work

Metro will be doing some weekday work to replace track circuits on the Red Line through Dec. 15. There won’t be any station closures, but single tracking is planned.

Red Line – Monday through Thursday, Nov. 7 to 17, from 8 p.m. to closing each night

  • Trains will single track between the Dupont Circle and Van Ness-UDC stations.
  • Customers should allow 15 minutes of additional travel time.

Red Line – 8 p.m. to closing, Monday, Nov. 21 to Wednesday, Nov. 23

  • Trains will single track between the Van Ness and Friendship Heights stations.
  • Customers should allow 15 minutes of additional travel time.

Red Line – 8 p.m. to closing, Monday, Dec. 12 to Thursday, Dec. 15

  • Trains will single track between the Van Ness-UDC and Medical Center stations.
  • Customers should add 20 minutes of additional travel time.
